The people in your life have the power to shape your story—for better or worse. In this message, we look at 1 Samuel 25:23 and the story of David, Nabal, and Abigail to understand the impact of the voices we allow into our inner circle.
As David is on the run from Saul, his anger toward Nabal nearly leads him into sin. But Abigail steps in with wisdom and courage, taking responsibility (1 Samuel 25:23), encouraging David to live up to his calling (1 Samuel 25:26–30), and standing in the gap to keep him from wrongdoing (1 Samuel 25:31).
Scripture reminds us to carry each other’s burdens (Galatians 6:2,5) and to be mindful of the influence others have in our lives (Deuteronomy 13:6–8).
Who you surround yourself with matters. Choose wisely—your story depends on it.
